Position Overview:
We are seeking a board-certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) to join our growing team. In this role, you will work with clients of varying abilities to develop and implement music therapy interventions that address therapeutic goals such as emotional regulation, communication, motor skills, and social engagement. The ideal candidate is passionate about using music as a therapeutic tool to make a lasting impact on the lives of clients and is experienced in adapting approaches to meet diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement individualized music therapy treatment plans based on client assessments and therapeutic goals.
• Conduct one-on-one and group music therapy sessions for clients with a wide range of abilities and developmental challenges.
• Adapt therapeutic techniques to meet the unique needs of each client, including those with developmental disabilities, autism, and other cognitive or physical challenges.
• Collaborate with caregivers, educators, and other therapists to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.
• Document client progress, maintain treatment records, and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
• Stay current on best practices and continuing education requirements for maintaining MT-BC certification.
Qualifications:
• Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) certification required.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Therapy from an accredited program.
• Experience working with individuals of various ages and abilities, including those with special needs.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt music therapy techniques to meet the unique needs of each client.
• Compassionate, patient, and committed to making a positive impact through music therapy.
• Flexibility to work both in-person and online, as needed.
• Ability to travel to clients' homes within the service area, ensuring reliable transportation.
• Comfortable working in varied home environments and adapting to different client settings.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and respect for client privacy and home dynamics during in-home visits.
• Flexibility to manage scheduling for in-home sessions, considering travel time and location.
• Adhere to safety protocols and any specific guidelines provided by the family or caregivers during in-home services.
